Beirut, March 8 (SANA) Israeli airstrikes across Lebanon killed at least 37 people and injured others over the past 24 hours, Lebanese state media said Sunday. Lebanon’s National News Agency reported that an Israeli strike hit a three-story building in the town of Sireh al-Gharbiyeh in the Nabatieh district, killing 19 people and leveling the structure. Another strike hit a house in the town of Aytit in the Tyre district, killing three people and wounding several others. The Lebanese Health Ministry said earlier Sunday that 15 people were killed and 15 injured in separate Israeli strikes on locations in Beirut and other parts of southern Lebanon. The escalation follows missile attacks by the Hezbollah militia on Israeli positions last Monday, after which Israel launched a wave of airstrikes targeting the southern suburbs of Beirut and large areas of southern and eastern Lebanon’s Bekaa region, causing hundreds of casualties.
